OPENING NIGHT REVIEWS
Noam Heinz is an Israeli–British–American baritone based in Berlin. He began his musical path as a bassoonist before discovering his passion for singing at the age of sixteen. A graduate of the Komische Oper Berlin’s studio program (2023–25) and the Meitar Opera Studio of the Israeli Opera (2020–22), he performs regularly on leading stages across Europe and Israel.
At the Komische Oper Berlin, his roles have included Schaunard in Puccini’s La Bohème, Horemhab in Philip Glass’s Akhnaten, the Priest of Jupiter in Handel’s Hercules, and the Duke of Mantua in Offenbach’s Die Banditen. With the Israeli Opera, he created the title role in the world premiere of Theodor and sang Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Prince Yamadori in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, among other roles.
In 2024 he was featured on the recording of Josef Tal’s Exodus with The Orchestra Now under Leon Botstein, also performed at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium. In the summer of 2025, he appeared at the Aix-en-Provence Festival as Mr. Redburn in Britten’s Billy Budd (new adaptation by Oliver Leith) while also participating in the festival’s Académie.
In the 2025–26 season, Heinz will expand his repertoire with major debuts and returns: at the Israeli Opera as Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte; in the U.S. as the title role in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with Opera in Williamsburg; and at the Staatsoper Stuttgart in Der rote Wal. He is also a finalist in the prestigious Paris Opera Competition (November 2025).
Heinz is a laureate of the Ronen Foundation, the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, and the Leon Nacht Foundation, and studied at the Buchmann–Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University.
